| Before meeting the mutant terrorist Mystique, St. John Allerdyce was a journalist and (although critically panned) successful author - who only used his mutant powers in cases of emergencies. The nature of their relationship, and his subsequent enlistment into the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants is unknown, but when he first appeared amongst their ranks it was a the flame-controlling Pyro. |
