Origin
Known as the "Beaut" because of his stunning good looks, Billy Russo was a brutal assassin for the Costa crime family.

Russo was hired to kill Frank Castle and anyone associated with the hit which lead to a gang war and the inadvertent death of Castle's wife and children.

A former Marine, Castle avoided Russo's assassination attempt, and sought revenge on the mafia as the Punisher.  Obtaining information on the suspects in his family's death, the Punisher targeted Russo first.  Tracking the assassin to a mafia nightclub, the Punisher killed numerous criminals before confronting Russo and kicking him face first thorough a second floor window.

Surviving the fall, Russo formerly handsome face was now horribly scarred in a random pattern.  Establishing himself as a gang leader, Russo now uses his hideous facade to terrorize others as Jigsaw.
