Von Doom was raised by wandering gypsies near the small European Balkan
nation of Latveria.
Loosing both of his parents at a very young age to the tyranny of the
Latverian government, he swore revenge. Doom began to increase both his scientific and mystical knowledge with such determination that he was given a full scholarship to Empire State University in the United States. It was at Empire State that Von Doom met Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic) and Ben Grimm (Thing), and where he started his extra-dimensional research. It was during his research that Von Doom's vanity prevented him from adjusting the schematics to one of his experiments, and the end result was an explosion that scarred him for life, both physically and mentally. Expelled from school, Von Doom began to travel the world, eventually finding a village of Tibetan monks who trained him, and crafted his first suit of body armor. Doom returned to Latveria, overthrowing the government and crowning himself king. Ruling with an iron fist, he began to turn the resources of the small nation to his plans for revenge and world domination as the tyrannical Dr. Doom. |
