| William Cross inspired to
build a criminal empire using the skills he learned as a C.I.A. espionage
agent and technology developed by the agency to control the minds of others. Cross' goal to foment disorder and subversion within society was almost brought to an end when rival criminals set explosives in his headquarters. The explosion caused Cross to loss an eye and ear - which he compensated for with cybernetic implants turning a disability into an advantage. Eventually Cross focused his attentions and technology upon the superhuman community, designing to turn them against one another as the mind controlling criminal Crossfire. |
