Regularly Appearing
Masters of the Universe Vol. 1, 2 & 3
First Appearance
DC Comics Presents #47 (July, 1982)

Note: Initially a line of action-figures produced by Mattel, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe was spun-off into print and television media as a means of advertising.

Recognizing the popularity of their animated television commercials, produced by Filmation, Mattel ordered a first season of 65 episodes, which aired in the United States in 1983.  The cartoon would air 103 original episodes until 1985, and spin-off into two new future He-Man cartoons, and She-Ra: Princess of Power, a show more targeted towards girls.

He-Man was introduced in comics through a team up with Superman in DC Comics Presents, and a three issue limited-series was produced by DC in 1982.  Marvel Comics produced a twelve issue run under its Star line of comics, targeted at younger readers in 1986.  Image Comics began publishing a new line of Masters of the Universe comics in 2003.
