Origin
The illegitimate daughter of the King of Markovia and his mistress, Tara Markov was sent to America to avoid a royal scandal.  Before she was exiled the young girl was secretly granted her royal heritage in the form of superhuman abilities.

What happened to her in American is unknown until she joined forces with the mercenary Deathstroke, who used the girl to infiltrate the Teen Titans to fulfill his contract for the terrorist organization H.I.V.E.

Winning the confidence of the Teen Titans, she eventually betrayed them as the duplicitous Terra.

Eventually a girl with the same appearance would claim to be Tara Markov.  Although her origin is mysterious and contested, genetic test prove that she is indeed the Princess of Markovia.  Apparently Markov was rescued by the Time Trapper moments before her death to serves as a sleeper agent with his Team Titans, to stop the machinations of the future tyrant Monarch.  When Monarch was defeated, Markov remained in the present as the hero Terra.
