| Origin | |
| An extreme animal rights
activist August Davezak was convinced that humanity was an infection on the
world. He and a group of other activists were in the act of wiring a
research lab to explode when the police, Hawkman and Hawkgirl intervened.
Because hostages were involved the other activists surrendered but Davezak
wasn't going to go without fulfilling his mission. Activating the
explosives he was bathed in experimental viruses and antiviruses. Taking refuge in the surrounding swamps of St. Roch he had an epiphany. The city was once named La Moyne, and after a malaria plague in the 1860's the inhabitants prayed to St. Roch for a cure. When the plague passed the city name was changed in honor of the saint. Now able to see viral infection in the bodies of others Davezak resolved to stop the diseases before they consume the world believing himself to be a reincarnation of St. Roch. |
