Silver Swan I Born homely, Helen Alexandros never the less dreamed of a career as a ballerina. Before a performance she heard the comment that "In real life the ugly duckling never gets to play the swan." The night before a performance in the famed amphitheater of Athens, Alexandros called upon the Olympic gods for help. Hearing her plea the god of war Mars appeared and informed her that she was his descendent. As a boon he granted her great powers and striking beauty so that she could seek revenge upon those that scorned her as the Silver Swan. Silver Swan II Valerie Beaudry's parents were exposed to radiation resulting in her being deformed at birth. Subjected to unknown experiments by Armbruster International, Beaudry was further mutated, but she gained superhuman abilities and striking physical beauty. Manipulated by the the head of Armbruster, she was convinced to commit crimes as the Silver Swan. Silver Swan III Vanessa Kapatelis was a high school student with typical teen-age problems. A close friend of her archaeologist mother, Princess Diana (Wonder Woman I) adopted Kapatelis as a little sister, helping her with many problems including the suicide of her best friend. Emotionally distressed and feeling betrayed when Wonder Woman chose another to inherit the mantle of Wonder Girl, Kapatelis was easy prey for the goddess Circe and her ally the Cheetah, who physically altered Kapatelis enabling her to strike back at those she felt betrayed her as the Silver Swan. |
