| Origin | |
| Known as the world's
greatest archer, the origins of the man called Merlyn are shrouded in
mystery. Merlyn's magical skills with a bow and arrow impressed a
young Oliver Queen years before he became the
Green Arrow. Years later Queen's idol would challenge and defeat
him in a public archery competition. Soon afterward the master archer
would disappear from the public eye. Years later as a member of the League of Assassins, the Merlyn and Green Arrow would clash when the master archer was assigned to kill Batman. Green Arrow saved the Dark Knight from a trap when he knocked away Merlyn's arrow with his own. Merlyn acknowledged that Green Arrow had surpassed him in skill and then made his escape. |
