| Origin | |
| A young executive on the
fast-track to success, Maxwell Lord IV was willing to do whatever it
took to success, even murder. Arranging a cave diving adventure with
his boss, Lord intended on murdering him and making it look like an
accident, but his boss truly did have an accident. Experiencing
a change of heart, Lord attempted to rescue his boss, but he was
coincidentally abducted by an alien computer headquartered within the cave.
The renegade computer programmed Lord with intent of him forming an
international peace organization through which it could control the Earth.
Lord used the knowledge he gained from the alien computer to become one of
the richest men in the world. When a new Justice League formed the computer had Lord infiltrate the group as their financial benefactor. Even after Lord shrugged off the influence of the alien computer he maintained a shaky relationship with the Justice League which eventually resulted in betrayal and murder. |
