brother of J'onn
J'onzz (Martian
Manhunter), Ma'alefa'ak was the only member of the Martian race born
without telepathy and a weakness to fire. Feeling ostracized because of his
genetic differences, Ma'alefa'ak created a psychic virus which spread
through the Martian population causing them to burst into flame.
Only J'onn
J'onzz survived the flames by shutting his mind off from the
collective. Confronting his brother,
J'onzz believed Ma'alefa'ak to have died in the battle, but he survived to
seek vengeance upon his brother as Malefic. |
