| Origin | |
| Justin Ballantine lost his
mother at an early age due to an alcoholic pharmacist mis-measuring her
prescription. After his mother's death Ballantine's alcoholic father
abused him regularly and the young Ballantine sought refuge in viewing the
stars with a telescope on his home's roof. When Ballantine's father
threatened to beat him with the telescope and attempted to climb upon the
roof, he fell to his death and Ballantine concluded that the universe always
finds balance. Attending college, Ballantine's physics professor was Ted Knight (Star Man I), a man's whose invention he would later use to create the Transmortifier, a device allowing him to steal half the powers of superhumans as the balance-obsessed criminal know as Libra. |
