is known of Dr. Karl Hellfern's early life. He first encountered the
Batman as part of
an elaborate scheme to extort money from Gotham's wealthiest citizens in
exchange for their lives. Hellfern's attempt to eliminate the Dark Knight failed and the mad scientist supposedly perished in a laboratory fire, but he would soon return to plague Batman and the world as the macabre Dr. Death. |
