Origin
The prototype of the Sentry was developed in the Kree year 1220 (approximately 80,000 years ago) by the Kree scientist Bronek.  The androids were immediately produced in mass quantities numbering the hundreds of thousands for military purposes, although only a relative handful (5000) exist today.

The first Sentry, number 213, stationed on Uranus, came into contact with the inhabitants of Earth known as the Eternals.  When the Eternals destroyed the Sentry and raided the unmanned outpost the Kree sent an armada to investigate.  The Earthbound ship was damaged forcing the survivors to seek refuge on the Saturn moon Titan, where the first colony would flourish, but eventually disappear.

The encounter with the Eternals lead the Kree empire to investigate the solar system which the previously had believed was devoid of life forms capable of space travel.  They stationed another Sentry, number 459, accompanied by a scientific research team on Earth.  Discovering the planet to be inhabited by beings capable of super-human abilities the Kree started research of their own which would result in the offshoot of humanity known as the Inhumans.  When the research party left Earth the Sentry was left to monitor the progress of the Inhuman civilization, which the Kree hoped to someday use as a specially powered militia.

Millennia later Sentry 459 would be discovered dormant in its subterranean outpost by an archaeologist on a small South Pacific Island near Attilan.  Activated by the intrusion the Sentry executed a surveillance program and began a broadcast to its long-silent alien masters, which brought it to the attention of the Fantastic Four, who battled the Sentry to a standstill.  The Sentries broadcast once again brought the planet Earth to the attention of the Kree Empire, especially the supreme administrator, Ronan the Accuser.
