| No longer willing to rely upon the efforts of superhumans to protect the world, the United States government created the Office of National Emergency (O*N*E). Directed with the task of anticipating the next threat to humanity, O*N*E initiated a program utilizing the sentient mutant hunting robots, created by Dr. Bolivar Trask, known as Sentinels, but unlike Trask's creations these Sentinels would be controlled by human pilots - forged into a fighting unit dubbed the Sentinel Squad O*N*E. |
