the dying planet of Thundera, a shuttle of eight passengers lead by the
wise Jaga went in search of sanctuary. All but Jaga, who piloted the ship, were keep in cryonic stasis which slowed their aging. Amongst them was the young Lion-o who was destined by decree to one day lead his fellow passengers. He was allowed to age to manhood while in cryogenic sleep, but he maintained the maturity of a little boy. In time his duties to his fellow passengers, and advise from the spirit of Jaga, would help him grow into a great leader. In their travel to sanctuary the ship was attacked by a band of mutant pirates. Crippled, the ship was forced to land on the planet known as Third Earth. Rising from cryonic sleep the passengers were faced with the challenge of life on a wondrous and hostile planet. Using the technology of their damaged shuttle craft the refugees from Thundera established a home base and fostered alliances with the peaceful inhabitants of their new home as a force for justice known as the Thundercats. |
