Origin
Born of Kyle Rayner's (Green Lantern V) subconscious and given life by Oan emerald energies, six Green Lanterns emerged as counterpoint to Oblivion, an imaginary super-villain Kyle created as a child.  Fueled by Kyle's power ring, Oblivion was made tangible as a living, breathing manifestation of Kyle's fears and self-loathing.

If Oblivion represented Kyle's negative emotions, the six Lanterns he unconsciously willed into existence embodied his positive attributes.

Green Lantern Alexandra DeWitt, Kyle's first great love, spared brutal murder at the hands of the villainous Major Force by becoming a Green Lantern.

The robotic Manhunter-like Green Lantern is an expression of Kyle's logical and rational attributes.

The speedster Green Lightning represents Kyle's hope for the future and his own descendants.

The stalwart Emerald Knight sprung from Kyle's inherent bravery.

The young members of the Teen Lanterns; Hunter and Forest represented Kyle's boundless imagination.

Together with Adam Strange, The Atom, Power Girl, Firestorm, and Kyle Rayner himself, this unorthodox Green Lantern Corps defeat Oblivion and are ultimately reintegrated into Kyle's weakened and fractured psyche, but will be remembered as the Circle of Fire.
