Origin
Four men of science and adventure miraculously survive unscathed an otherwise fatal plane crash. Red Ryan observed that his wristwatch was still intact and keeping perfect time. "Borrowed time," added Ace Morgan, and the others agreed that they were living on borrowed time which might be better spent taking risk for the benefit of humanity as the Challengers of the Unknown.
