Although there was a team of costumed Nazi agents during World War II known as Axis Amerika their relationship to the latest incarnation of this supremacist group is unknown.

Their origins are unknown, but their motivations are as simple as hate; hatred of an America that they perceive as losing its way and its destiny, a destiny only fit for a few like them.

Their ploy was to undermine the United States government and the champions of the world the Justice League by turning the very world they protect against them.  Ultimately foiled, but escaping to continue their racist mission as Axis America.
