| Origin | |
| The
Ancients were brought
together from the four corners of the ancient world to protect the
legendary city of
Atlantis
from all invaders, the Ancients' methods may
seem harsh by modern standards, but they were heroes in a much harsher
age. Lead by Rama Khan and his supposed advisor Gamemnae the Ancients prepared for the day a mysterious Seven-Headed Hydra would strike. In reality the Ancients were being manipulated from within by Gamemnae, who sought not only to rule the Earth in this era, but also future eras. She would betray her fellow teammates as she had been betrayed by her native people of Atlantis when she was cast from their city to die because of their superstition against blonde-headed infants. The only known member to supposedly survive the betrayal was the Native American mystic Manitou Raven, who would join with his one-time adversaries in the Justice League. |
