Origin
The ancient peoples of Germany and Scandinavia had a tradition of reverence for what they called guardian or "warden" trees, which were believed to bestow luck and watch over human souls.
From this tradition was likely born the belief that the nine worlds of reality were bound together by a great Ash tree which grew through the universe called Yggdrasil.
