mutation resulting in enhanced senses, an advanced healing ability capable
of mending physical wounds and granting immunity to all known diseases;
and foot-long razor-sharp retractable claws housed in the forearms that can be
extended at will through the knuckles. Note #1: Due to a secret program by an unknown organization, Wolverine's skeleton is fortified by a super-strong alloy known as Adamantium, rendering his bones virtually indestructible. Note #2: One accounting states that Wolverine may in fact not be a mutated human, but a member of a humanoid race known as Moon-Beast, which avoided genetic manipulation by a race of space born gods known as the Celestials. In effect Wolverine has abilities that all humans would have had if not for the genetic manipulation of the Celestials. Apparently he was discovered and adopted by the Howlett family and raised as the heir to their manor. Another member of the Moon-Beast race is Moon Boy, whose pre-historic adventures where chronicled in Devil Dinosaur by Jack Kirby. |

| Origin | |
| Logan is a man of unknown
age that has a long, checkered, and mostly forgotten
past. His confusion is compounded by the discovery that many of his
memories may be artificial implants or the result of his healing powers
attempt to stabilize his mental state after personally traumatic
experiences. Supposedly against his will, he was subjected to a series of procedures bonding the unbreakable alloy, known as Adamantium to his skeleton. Working for the Canadian government, he made his first public appearance to end an altercation between the Gamma irradiated monster known as the Hulk and the cursed cannibal known as Wendigo. He later resurfaced as a member of the super-powered mutant team known as the X-Men. Initially a loose cannon, Logan learned under the tutelage of Professor Xavier to control his animalistic tempter to become one of his star pupils. Although he has learned self control he remains one of the most dangerous men in the world, known mostly to allies and enemies alike as Wolverine. |
