Origin
Conceived in a union between a human and the Eskimo goddess of the Northern Lights, Nelvanna, the girl who would be known as Narya was destined to guard the world from the Great Beasts of the ancient world.

Aiding in her mystical birth, Dr. Twoyoungmen (Shaman) bound the transmorphic embryo to the Earth so that she could assume human form, but at the price of only being able to mimic animals native to northern Canada.  Dr. Twoyoungmen raised the child in the secluded wilderness and she matured within a few years.

When the young medicine man and his mystic charge were visited by his former neighbors, Heather and James Hudson, the young woman's nature was discovered when Heather witnessed her transform into a snow owl in  search of her night prey.  Questioning Dr. Twoyoungmen about what she had seen, he explained to the couple Narya's true nature.

The doctor and Narya were offered membership in James Hudson's team of government operatives.  Accepting, Narya would take the codename of Snowbird.
