Origin
Born into wealth and privilege Dwayne Michael Taylor's family had a dark and shadowy past which lead to their murders at the initiative of their advisor, a mystic known as Tai.  Tai used her abilities to twist Taylor's memories of his parents' death to manipulate him into becoming a vigilante - with the goal of having him befriend superhumans which she could use as a sacrifice to control a dimensional breach known as the Well of All Things.  Recruiting other heroes, Taylor used his fortune to fund the New Warriors as their leader Night Thrasher.

Dwayne Michael Taylor's father secretly fathered another son out of wedlock, and covered it up by bribing the child's mother.  The boy was named Donyell Taylor and upon reaching manhood discovered that he had the mutant power to generate an electric charge similar to an electric eel.

Learning of his relationship to Night Thrasher, Donyell Taylor resolved to prove himself superior to his brother by becoming the vigilante known as Bandit.

After the death of Night Thrasher at the tragedy in Stamford, Connecticut; Donyell Taylor reformed the New Warriors and assumed his brother's identity as Night Thrasher.
