| Origin | |
| As a child Namora
discovered her mutation enabling superhuman strength and durability after
she was attacked by a shark. Instead of being eaten by the sea
predator the carnivorous fish broke its teeth upon her unbreakable skin and
she easily tore the animal asunder. Another Atlantian mutant Attuma used his power to seize the throne - killing Queen Dorma and her heirs. Namora challenged Attuma who scoffed at the challenge of a female. The would-be tyrant did not know Namora was twice his strength. After Attuma's death the citizens of Atlantis chose their newest hero to lead them as Queen Namora. |
