| Origin | |
| After
Tabitha Smith's mutation manifest itself during adolescence, her
relationship with her parents went from bad to worse. After repeated
beatings by her father, Smith assumed the name Time Bomb and fled
home in search of
Xavier's
School for Gifted Youngsters, which she had heard was a school for
mutants. After a series of strange adventures with the deity from another dimension known as the Beyonder, Smith joined a gang of criminal mutants lead by the Vanisher assuming the name Boom Boom. As an act of revenge for poor treatment she betrayed the Vanisher to X-Factor, the original members of the X-Men, assuming the identities of mutant hunters to rescue mutants from oppression. Smith has had an on-again off-again relationship with mutants on both sides of the law, and developed a reputation as a reckless prankster, assuming many codenames to fit her many moods, as the temperamental Meltdown. |
