Yashida was born into one of the most powerful families in Japan, the Clan
Yashida. Her father,
Lord Shingen, was the most formidable crime lord
in Japan and her cousin Shiro Yoshida is Japan's greatest hero, the mutant
Sunfire. Her cousin's relationship to the X-Men resulted in Yashida's first encounter with Wolverine - a man she at first feared but learned to love. Although they were at one time engaged Yashida broke off the union when she was mentally manipulated by the mutant Mastermind. After she became master of her own mind, Yashida resolved that she would marry Wolverine only after she had proven herself worthy of him - but she was to be denied. Slowly and fatally poisoned by a member of the ninja assassins known as the Hand, Yashida would request Wolverine to end her misery by taking her life - a request he reluctantly fulfilled. |
