| Origin | |
| During the X-Men's
adventures on the alien planet inhabited by the malevolent insect race known
as the Brood, Shadowcat was rescued by a small dragon-like creature.
Before the planet was destroyed the X-Men were teleported abroad a Shi'ar
starship and it was assumed that the dragon was killed. Shortly after returning to Earth, Shadowcat investigated a disturbance in the maintenance tunnels beneath the X-Men's headquarters. To her delight it was the dragon from Broodworld. Adopting it as a pet Shadowcat settled upon a name derived from the aviation designer of the X-Men's Blackbird RS-150 jet - Lockheed. |
