| Origin | |
| The single mother of two
children, Kelsey Leigh wore a large scar on her face as the result of a
rapist, who her cowardly husband failed to stop. On the day when Leigh took her two children to an ice-cream parlor the Avengers were tracking the criminals known as the Wrecking Crew on the streets of London. When the mission went horribly wrong Captain America was knocked unconscious into the ice-cream parlor by Wrecking Crew member Thunderball. To protect the Sentinel of Liberty, Leigh took up his shield as a guard against Thunderball's blows with a construction wrecking ball. The brave mother would fall to repeated blows and later die, but her spirit would be transported to a mystical realm, where she faced a choice between the Amulet of Right or the Sword of Might. Reasoning that an amulet would not serve as a tool of protection for England, she drew the sword and was transformed into Avalon's guardian - Captain Britain. |
