Personage in Jade, the title of ruler. Desiring to return of his home dimension, Wendell brought his wife Heather and son to Tibet where the inter-dimensional nexus was scheduled to open during its ten year cycle. Both Wendell and Heather died under different circumstances while searching for the nexus. The young Daniel was discovered by denizens of K'un-Lun where he was brought before Yu-Ti, who although plotted the death of his parents, apprenticed the boy in martial arts. Rand excelled at the martial arts and as a young adult challenged the mystical dragon Shou-Lao the Undying, which ferociously guarded a brazier containing its heart. In battle Rand grabbed the dragon's body, which bore a scar which imprinted upon his chest. Killing the serpent he plunged his hands into the beast molten heart, absorbing its mystical force enabling him to focus his life energy into his hands making an Iron Fist. |
