Ketch and his older sister Barbara stumbled upon the criminal actions of
Deathwatch, near the Cypress Hill cemetery. Not wanting any
witnesses, Deathwatch ordered the siblings be killed. While attempting to
escape Barbara was seriously wounded. Ketch, desperate to save his
sister, dragged her body into a auto junkyard. Soaked in her blood,
Ketch came upon a wreaked motorcycle with a glowing gas cap. Touching the
cap he was instantly transformed into a flaming spirit of vengeance.
He exacted revenge on Deathwatch's
minions, but Deathwatch escaped. Ketch took his sister to the
hospital, where she died.
Feeling guilt for his sisters death
Ketch resolved to use his new found power
to avenge those who have suffered at the hands of criminals, as the
Ghost
Rider. |
