| Origin | |
| As an infant,
Gamora
was the sole survivor of a massacre of the peace-loving inhabitants of the
planet Zen-Whoberi by the future tyrant
Magus and his cult the Universal Church of Truth, after the inhabitants
refused to join his religious movement. Desiring a means to destroy his rival, the mad Titan Thanos brought the infant Gamora back to his time, several decades before the massacre of Zen-Whoberi, training the alien girl to become a superb athlete and master assassin. Thanos also subtly altered her mind so that she could not recognize the evil of the deeds her intended for her to commit as the most dangerous woman in the universe. |
