| Origin | |
| After
his death, Jack Truman's body was recovered by
S.H.I.E.L.D.'s
cyborg division ECTECHOP. Before he could be converted into a
cyborg, Truman utilized a mystical Tibetan mind transfer into technician
Ted Bailey, then jumped into the mind of his seven-year-old son
Billy. Truman struggled to gain control of youth's mind while smuggling
his way into S.H.I.E.L.D. in the trunk of Bailey's car. Meanwhile Truman's cyborg shell had escaped S.H.I.E.L.D. and was running amuck in Las Vegas. Truman, still in Billy Bailey's body, challenges S.H.I.E.L.D.'s air-cavalry, hijacking one of their armed vehicles in mid-flight. Utilizing the same Tibetan mind transfer to escape Billy's body, Truman occupied that of the cyborg code-named Deathlok. After a series of missions for S.H.I.E.L.D., Deathlok became disillusioned and decided to once again go deep underground. Meeting his nemesis air-cavalry Lieutenant Larry Young in a mid-night diner, Truman switched minds and walked out with Young's body, leaving him trapped inside the Deathlok cyborg. Truman has not been seen since. |
