| First Appearance | |
| House of M #4 (Sept. 2005) | |
| Creator | |
| Brian Michael Bendis & Olivier Coipel | |
| Origin | |
| Placed in an orphanage in
the Bowery neighborhood of New York City after the death of her parents in
an automobile accident, Layla Miller's mutant powers soon thereafter
manifested in the form of horns and an ability to breathe fire. When the Scarlet Witch used her powers to remake reality, in an event known as the House of M, mutants became the dominant species and everything changed for Miller. In this rewritten reality, Miller was a normal student attending public school and her parents were alive - plus the nature of her mutation manifest in an ability to perceive divergent realities and possible futures. After reality was reset Miller found her mutation gone for a time, but it reemerged allowing her to see the threads of possible future outcomes. Finding a home with the mutant private investigation firm X-Factor, Miller uses her powers to affect the future, like a storm being seeded by the beats of the wings of a Butterfly. |
