Origin
As a teen-aged girl, Jessica Cambell was shy and not exceptional at anything in particular, but fate had other plans for her destiny.

After a few close brushes with destiny, she and her family were victims of a highway accident on their way to a summer vacation.  Her father's attention distracted by her squabbling with her younger brother their car was trapped under a passing military convoy truck.  A canister of an unknown chemical element fell through the front window and into Jessica's lap in the back seat, the car flipped and burst into flame, she woke six months later from a coma to discover her family did not survive.

Adopted by a family in her old neighborhood Jessica's last name was changed to Jones.  She began school once again to face childish torment because of her tragic experiences.  Fleeing school she discovered by chance that she was able to fly.  Testing her other abilities she found that she had also gained superhuman strength.  After foiling a petty crime by the Scorpion she decided that she would become a superhero.
