| Origin | |
| A
young idealist Maria Mendoza was sad for the desecration of her Peruvian
homeland at the hands of the greedy Armando Guitez, who was searching for
Incan runes that would bestow incredible powers. Maria's father, a local priest, stood against Guitez and paid with his life. Maria fled with the help of archaeologist Steve Trevor, who was attempting to protect the local ruins from Guitez's corruption. Hiding at the ruins they were found and Guitez broke open the ruins to unleash a powerful creature of evil that merged with his physical body. In the chaos Maria was lead by the voice of the Sun God, leading her to a golden staff that transformed her into the protector of the Earth, Wonder Woman. |
