| Origin | |
| A
police officer in a distant galaxy, Salden excelled despite his
unwillingness to undergo genetic engineering like his fellow
officers. What he lacked in size he compensated for in courage. When his wife was murdered by the villainous Gorrok, Salden tracked her killer following him onto a prototype spacecraft, powered by an unknown green element, just before launch. Their battle caused the ship to careen out of control eventually crashing into the Pacific Ocean. Swimming from the wreckage the exposure to the green element altered him granting great power and strength. Wanting to return to his home planet, Salden was dismayed by Earth's apparent lack of technological progress. He theorized crime and war were responsible for the lack of human scientific evolution and decided to dedicate his power to eliminating these distractions as Superman. |
