| Origin | |
| When
the Wayne family was threatened by a mugger after leaving a late movie,
police officer Jim Gordon stepped in to stop the crime. Both he and
his wife were gunned down before the eyes of their daughter Barbara.
Thinking he had nothing to fear from the unarmed Waynes and a little girl,
the mugger found himself sorely mistaken when the young Gordon aimed her
father's service revolver and demanded the criminal surrender. Adopted by the Waynes, the young Gordon was afforded the best education and access to their considerable fortune. Allied with Bruce Wayne, Gordon used her knowledge and his money to become the protector of Gotham City, the Batgirl. |
