| Origin | |
| A
member of an alien race driven by an overwhelming desire for conquest,
Mikaal Tomas was part of an invasion team stationed on Earth's moon. Convinced by his lover Lyssa, who being different from others of her race felt compassion, that Earth should be spared, Mikaal rebelled and defended Earth from his peoples attacks. When the alien invaders home planet Talok III was destroyed by a sabotaged doomsday device, the invading force based on the Moon committed suicide from despair. On Earth Mikaal fought crime for a time, but eventually found himself part of the Disco party scene where he found solace and the rush he craved in various mind-altering drugs. Noting his alien appearance, his fellow partiers gave him a nickname in reference to the rock song by David Bowie calling him Starman. |
