Pre-Zero Hour Sean Erin was born on the planet Duar, which prized stoicism in its males as the primary characteristic of manliness. Erin could not but feel emotion, which lead to shame and self loathing. After completing mandatory education, Erin fled his home world to live on a commune where experimental drug use was common. It was here that he discovered a drug known as ProFem, which could change a male into a female. Feeling that this was the route to being able to express his emotions, Erin became a woman and assumed the name Shvaughn Erin. Desiring closer contact with Legionnaire, Jan Arrah (Element Lad), who Erin had read about as a youth and inspired his emotions after learning about how Arrah's entire planet had been destroyed leaving him an orphan. Not being qualified for Legion status, Erin became a member of the Science Police eventually becoming the liaison to the superhero team, and give opportunity to pursue her love. Post Zero-Hour Assigned liaison to the Legion shortly after her graduation from the Science Police training academy, Shvaughn was like most Science Police officers was extremely resentful of the super-powered heroes and very unhappy with her assignment. Working closely with the Legionnaires she began to develop a great deal of respect. After the Emerald Eye of Ekron's attempt to control the entire team, Officer Shvaughn was caught in the temporal explosion which transported her and half of the Legionnaires back to the 20th century. After her return to the 30th century, Shvaughn was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. |
