Origin
Tim Drake used his detective skills to discover that Bruce Wayne was the masked vigilante Batman.

Drake begged Batman to make him his new partner in crime as Robin, but with the memory of Jason Todd's (Robin II) death still fresh, Batman hesitated to take on a new apprentice.  He allowed Drake to do research on ongoing cases while he trained.

During a rash of seemingly random murders committed by average citizens wearing a death mask, Drake deduced the crimes were being caused by the Scarecrow.  Batman went to confront the master of fear, but was captured.

Drake tracked down the Batmobile confronted the Scarecrow and rescued Batman.  To  reward his hard work and perseverance Batman agreed to make him the new Robin.
