Test pilot Larry Trainor was flying an experimental rocket when a
malfunction caused it to travel into deep space. Passing through a
radiation belt and then crash-landing on Earth, Trainor found his body
glowing with energy. Dr. Niles Caulder used a special material to bind Trainor's body, stalling his radiation poisoning. Trainor joined Caulder's team of misfit heroes known as the Doom Patrol after he discovered he could leave his body for short periods of time in the energy form known as the Negative Man. |
