| Origin | |
| The
native of an undersea civilization of the other-dimensional world Xebel,
Mera
became its queen upon the death of her father. When her kingdom was
conquered by Leron, she fled through a dimensional warp into Earth's Atlantic Ocean, where she met
Aquaman
and
Aqualad. With their
assistance she defeated Leron and his accomplices regaining her throne. In time her love for Aquaman caused her to abandon her throne to join him in Atlantis as queen, eventually having a son, Arthur, who inherited his mother's powers. Arthur would die at the hands of Black Manta, an event that would strain the resolve of her love for Aquaman. |
