Barry Allen, struck by lightning in his lab one night was splashed with chemicals from a
nearby cabinet. After regaining consciousness Allen discovered he could
move at
super-sonic speed. Inspired by the
Flash of a generation before, Allen assumed the same identity.
Allen died saving the
universe during the
Crisis
On Infinite Earths. Breaking all limits of speed he
became one with the Other Side of Light, while outracing the tachyon at the heart of the
Anti-Monitor's anti-matter
cannon. It was revealed that Allen took on the form of a lightening bolt that
traveled into the past granted him his speed, thus insuring the legacy of the
fastest man alive, The Flash. |
