| Origin | |
| Bored with the life of an
idle playboy, Rod Reilly trained with his friend, ex-heavyweight boxer
"Slugger" Dunn to become the flame-wielding crimefighter known as
Firebrand. Before America's entrance into World War II, Reilly enlisted in the Navy and was injured during the Japanese attack at Pearl Harbor. Bestowing upon his sister his crime-fighting mantle - she used her mutant abilities to generate fire from her hands to become the next Firebrand. Years later in unrelated events, New York City detective Alex Sanchez was mentally and physically traumatized. No longer having a will to live he found purpose when the wealthy Noah Hightower outfitted him with a cybernetic uniform able to project fiery energy bolts as Firebrand. |
