When her application to the police academy was rejected Richard Drake died of a broken heart, leaving Dinah a small inheritance, which she used to open a florist shop. Determined to fulfill her father's wishes that she be a crime fighter, she donned a blonde wig a suitable costume and became the avenger known as the Black Canary. |
