| Origin | |
| The
gorillas of Gorilla City are an ancient and advanced race of
hyper-intelligent apes, whose ancestors gained their abilities from
radiation emanating from a meteor which fell to Earth. Although shielded from the outside world by a cloaking force field, which can only be perceived by its inhabitants, the city's existence became known when the criminal Grodd escaped imprisonment by diverting the force field's power supply. Forced to seek recognition by the United Nations, the gorillas lived in relative harmony with humanity, but there was mounting evidence that continued exposure would erode Gorilla City's culture. Eventually a plan was devised to erase all knowledge of Gorilla City's location from the general human population, and it once again became a hidden city. |
